CPA Bermuda is a member of the Chartered Professional Accountants of Canada (CPA Canada), which represents more than 220,000 professional accountants across Canada and Bermuda, making it one of the top five accounting designations in the world.
Accountants work in every sector of Bermuda. They are involved in a wide range of complex disciplines – from financial reporting, finance to strategy and governance, assurance, performance management, and information technology – and they volunteer their time and expertise for numerous community projects and charitable organizations.
Throughout their professional careers, professional and public accountants are subject to ongoing regulation to protect the public interest. Among other things, the Act provides for the regulation of members and firms, while the By-Laws assist to govern the operations of the accounting profession in Bermuda.
CPA Bermuda serves both its members and the public by promoting accountability, fostering professional excellence, and providing resources and support to help professional and public accountants maintain their skills and stay up to date with industry changes. CPA Bermuda also engages in advocacy efforts on behalf of the profession and works to promote the value of qualified accountants in both the local and global business environments.
